The lid opens on either side and folds back for easy removal to churn the compost, allowing gardeners to easily harvest the compost from the lower hatch (500mm x 270mm). Narrow gaps in the side panels allow air circulation while keeping rain out. The angled 'cant cut' timber boards (90mm x 20mm) hide the waste and aid ventilation. The open base allows micro-organisms, worms, and slugs to help break down the waste into top-quality compost.
